One of the cornerstones of establishing a transformative new beginning is decluttering. A clutter-filled environment might make you feel more stressed, confused, and tired. Eliminating it can help you realign your energy and make room for fresh abundance to come into your life.

Prepare Yourself towards Decluttering

Kitchen
Countertops: Clean and clean your countertops meticulously. Store commonly used objects and appliances as close to the surface as possible. If you keep spices on the counter, look for a spice rack that mounts to the wall. Alternatively, consider metal mobile carts with shelves that can house small appliances (on the bottom) and commonly used spices/utensils (on top). When it comes to cutlery, only keep the ones you use frequently!
Refrigerator and Pantry: Go through your pantry and refrigerator and donate any nice but outdated foods that you won’t be using. While clearing out the pantry, it’s a good idea to give the shelves a thorough cleaning and move necessities like cereals, nuts, flours, dry beans, and dried fruit into large-labeled canisters or Mason jars. For an extra dose of happiness, give the refrigerator a good scrub down with warm, soapy water and a few drops of your best lemon essential oil.
Living Room
Furniture: Look around and consider whether you love and require the furniture in your living room. Is there extra furniture or tables that make the place feel crowded? Remove any furniture that isn’t functional. In Buy Nothing groups, you can sell, donate, or thoughtfully gift these items.
Electronics: Organize all your cords, remote controls, and electronic devices. Consider using cable organizers and elegant extension cords if you have a lot of visible wires.
Décor: Begin by removing any unnecessary décor from your coffee table, side tables, and shelves. Keep only the necessities and beautiful objects that speak to you.
Artwork: Do you have any art on the walls that you don’t like or want in this room? Can you relocate it to a more suitable location? Can you paint over it if it’s a painting? If you don’t like the shot, can you enlarge a favorite photo from your phone’s camera roll and replace it in the frame? Keep your art fresh because it is a huge source of energy in your home.
Bathroom
Toiletries: Go through all expired products, especially skin care and makeup, and discard them. Consider getting a shower caddy to arrange your soaps, body washes, shampoos, conditioners, and scrubs if you don’t already have one.
Medicine Cabinet: Expired vitamins and drugs should be disposed of safely. You may want to use this time to sort through existing first aid kits to toss expired supplies too.
Towels: Arrange your towels, keeping only what you need in good condition. Towels that are somewhat worn can be donated to animal sanctuaries. To store the towels you do save, use baskets or shelves.
Bedroom
Bed: All your bedding should be fluffed, washed, and refreshed: Is it time to replace your toxic-free linens, organic comforter, or supportive pillows? Pillows can gain almost a pound in weight due to the dust mites that live inside them (shocking, I know), so replace them as needed (1). You may also acquire covers for your pillows and mattress that keep dust mites at bay.
Nightstands: Remove as many electronics as possible off your nightstands, instead choosing a simple lamp and a simple alarm clock, as well as a vase of fresh flowers, crystals or stones, a candle, or a nice book. Moving electronics out of your bedroom can help you sleep better and create a more loving environment.
Wardrobe/Closet: Sort through your items and tidy your closet so that your fall clothes are visible when you open it. Donate or sell goods you no longer wear, as well as garments with memories connected that are no longer appropriate for your lifestyle.
